McLane Southeast is located in Cottonwood, Ala., and is McLane Company s third grocery distribution center. Opening in October 1980, it was the first division east of the Mississippi River. Its original building has been expanded several times, now covering approximately 327,000 square feet with a 73,000-square-foot satellite building sitting adjacent to the distribution center. Employing more than 460 teammates, it serves more than 1,600 customers in Georgia and South Carolina. The company s dedicated logistics team, in 18 modern distribution centers, provides superior service throughout the nation to convenience stores, drug stores, mass merchandisers and other specialty retailers. The McLane Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway, employs some 14,000 people nationwide. The company is headquartered in Temple, Texas.
