The Johnson County Court Administrator is an administrative office of Johnson County District Courts. The office is located in Olathe, Kan., and coordinates with the office of judicial administration, a managerial arm of the Kansas Supreme Court. It also coordinates with the Johnson County government regarding nonjudicial personnel that include various employees, such as the clerk of the district court and official court reporters. It also oversees budgets assigned to the unified district courts and payment to vendors and provides assistance to the budget and executive committees of the courts. The office also provides assistance for budget planning, estimation of expenditure, and revenue and preparation of projection reports. The Johnson County Court Administrator is also responsible for the payment of salaries to attorneys appointed by the district court to represent criminal, civil and juvenile cases. Additionally, it is responsible for the jury management that involves coordination with various divisions of the district court.

Johnson County Med-Act, based in Olathe, Kan., is a countrywide emergency medical service with advanced life support capability that was created by the Johnson County Board of County Commissioners in 1975. The service is offered to the highways and homes of Johnson County, Kan., in accordance with the national, state and local standards. It is designed to provide care for people who become suddenly ill or injured. Units are dispatched to any place round-the-clock in case of an emergency. Med-Act has an annual call volume of more than 25,000 and operates from over 15 fixed stations with nearly 130 employees.

About JO The JO has been providing public transportation services to much of Johnson County, downtown Kansas City, Missouri, and Kansas City, Kansas since 1980. The JO operates 5 days a week with most routes running during peak morning and afternoon times. The JO has over 100 drivers who drive approximately 100 coaches and cutaway vans. The JO vehicles travel approximately 8, 300 miles every day. Through The JO Special Edition, curb-to-curb service for disabled, elderly and low income residents of Johnson County is provided. The JCTC meets regularly with the staff of the Transportation Department to consider, address and advise on various transportation-related issues. The JCTC makes recommendations to both the Transportation Department and Board of County Commissioners. JO Facility Johnson County Transit opened the Murray L. Nolte Transit Center in Olathe in May 2001. This new facility houses the administrative, maintenance and operations offices.
