One of the county's constitutional officers, the commonwealth's attorney prosecutes felony, misdemeanor, traffic and juvenile criminal cases in cooperation with law enforcement and the complaints of private citizens.
The county attorney is the official counsel to the Board of Directors. This office drafts all county ordinances and is the legal representation of all county offices.
