Western Albemarle Rescue Squad is a more than 60 member all-volunteer advanced life support organization that provides rescue and emergency medical services in the western portions of Albemarle County, Va. Its fleet includes ambulances, one squad truck, zone cars, as well as Gator 5. Its administration includes officers for various committees, as well as community members. Fairfax County maintains 41 fire stations throughout the county - this one opened in 2007, making it number 41. It is one of two in Fairfax Station and keeps ten professional firefighters on duty at all times; these are members of a staff estimated to be about 30 people in total.
