The Assessor's Office is responsible for valuing every parcel of real estate in Contra Costa County, for the purposes of determining the amount of property taxes owed for those parcels. The office also offers help for property owners regarding property assessment and taxation.
The Board of Supervisors is the legislative and executive branch of Marin County. Composed of five district representatives, this board oversees the county departments, social organizations and services and county infrastructure.

The county's Assessor-County Clerk-Recorder's office is where locals can get copies of and file public records. It deals in birth, death and marriage certificates, passport applications, fictitious business names and other public records.
The building sits on County Center Drive, where many county services keep offices. The office is a few doors down from the Grace Mellman Community Library.
SamCERA, the San Mateo County Employees' Retirement Association, provides retirement, disability and death benefits to employees of the county. It was founded in 1944, and is administered by nine members of the board. The company works out of a large business complex on Marine Parkway.
