The chalkboard outside of Bull McCabe's promising "Live Music, great food, cold beer" sums up this Union Square tavern. Formerly Tir Na Nog, this old-school Irish pub features team trivia and karaoke, as well as live music. While the menu consists of traditional pub fare, it also offers $4 burgers Tuesdays through Thursdays, as well as a traditional Irish breakfast on weekends.
Cafe 939 is a Berklee College of Music student-run coffeehouse. The shop is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and offers live music and performances including styles such as rock, jazz, hip-hop, electronica, and avant-garde.
Coffee specialties include mocha, lattes, cappuccinos and espressos as well as chai and hot tea. The shop also offers sandwiches and breakfast goods including bagels, scones, and danishes.
The café showcases talent from local areas as well as Berklee student performers. The location has a 200-capacity concert space, PA and lighting systems, video and DVD capabilities, and flexible seating. Berklee students also work as ushers, box office clerks, and stage crew.
Showcase Live is a 16,000-square-foot performance venue that features live performances from the top artists in jazz, rock, country, hip hop and more. Showcase Live is home to a restaurant and bar that can accommodate more than 500 seated guests, as well as 1,000 standing patrons. Call to schedule a private party.
