Big Bethel AME Church is the oldest predominantly African American congregation in the Atlanta metropolitan area. It was founded in 1847 and is an African Methodist Episcopal church and is located on the Historic Auburn Ave. They have many different ministries available to be involved with like Youth, Music & Arts, & Outreach. The Atlanta Community Food Bank is inside of the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Warehouse is West Atlanta. It was founded by Bill Bolling in 1979 and originally operated out of the basement of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Midtown. The food bank now provides food for more than 700 non-profit agencies. These agencies include food pantries, community kitchens, shelters, senior centers, and child care centers in Atlanta and other areas throughout North Georgia. It has an interactive website with helpful information about the various ways to donate and volunteer. Individuals and companies can make monetary donations online and walk-in food donations are accepted on-site during weekday hours. It also has volunteer opportunities for individuals and groups of up to 25 people. The Atlanta Community Food Bank sponsors and organizes events to raise money and awareness about hunger and nutrition. The Apostles Learning Center is the children's pre-school at The Apostles Church in Sandy Springs. Featuring state of the art classrooms, the Georgia state funded pre-kindergarten program is available to children who qualify.

This is a beautiful, thriving Jewish temple located in Sandy Springs. It has 800 members in the congregation. It is open on Sunday for religious school, Friday night services are at 8pm, and there is a shabbat service on a Saturday morning at 10am, and once a month there is a congregational dinner followed by service. It has a large social hall, which is available for rental. It also offers study groups, choir and music programs, youth programs, preschool, and missionary programs. Beverly Brown is the executive director. It has been at this location for the past 30 years and it is the only synagogue in Sandy Springs. The Senior Rabbi is Julie S. Schwartz.
Our Lady of Lourdes is a Catholic church on Boulevard in Atlanta. It was the first African American Catholic Church in the city. First Baptist Church of Sandy Springs is an open and inviting Baptist congregation. They began in 1853 as Providence Baptist but in 1967 they came to their current location. Create Your Dreams is a youth-oriented, non-profit organization in the historic King Plow community of Midtown. Create Your Dreams aims to assist underprivileged public school students with achieving a high school diploma through various after school programs, tutoring, field trips and college preparation programs. The organization's space features computers, art space, couches and a kitchen.
