Established in 1964, Milton S. Eisenhower Library is a research library that houses a collection of books, journals, electronic resources and other scholarly materials. It features the Eisenhower Rare Book Collection, Ferdinand Hamburger University archives, manuscripts and sheet music collection. The library has more than 2.5 million humanities books. Milton S. Eisenhower Library offers collection in German and Romance languages and philosophy. It also has chemistry and biomedical and environmental engineering books. The library provides journals, specialized databases, and statistical and cartographic data. Milton S. Eisenhower Library is a part of Sheridan Libraries, which provides various information resources, instruction and related services. Founded in 1925, Chesapeake Biological Laboratory is a marine research facility, and is a part of the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science. The center provides a wide variety of research and information studies.
