Fraternal Order of Eagles is a community organization that hosts bingo, children's activities and a number of private events each year. It also partners with a number of local charities in the Fredericksburg area. Annual membership dues are $30 per person and all new members must be sponsored by a current member.
The Tavern is a friendly, comfortable place with regular food and drink specials. They include Half Priced Burger Mondays (which a handful of first time and regular customers might assure you are the "best hamburgers in Fredericksburg") and Half Priced Wing Tuesday, which are for sure are some of the best wings you'll find anywhere. Check them out online for an events calendar and ongoing specials.
Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3103 is an organization of local ex-service members and charitable military groups like the Disabled American Veterans and the Young Marines. In addition, Post 3103 also rents out two meeting halls. The main hall has a kitchen and a capacity of 125, while the upstairs hall can hold 83. These meeting halls have become an important location for a variety of nonmilitary charities, support groups and churches. Five different Alcoholics Anonymous groups regularly meet here, and there is a driving school. It's conveniently located off Route 1 on Princess Anne Street and is also close to Old Mill Park.
The Bragg Hill Family Life Center is a community haven for "at-risk" youth, located three blocks off Fall Hill Avenue. The center offers an after-school educational program, summer camp and various athletic activities for Bragg Hill residents. The BHFLC also offers ESL classes and senior craft classes for adults.
