The Burlington Swim & Tennis Club is a volunteer operated, private, non-profit sports and social club. Member families can enjoy its tennis and aquatics facilities at their leisure. This club also offers tennis and swimming lessons. Members can rent the club's function hall for events, and enjoy access to all facilities and lessons at discounted rates.
Jenks Center is operated by the Winchester Seniors Association, which is a nonprofit organization working to improve the quality of seniors’ lives in the community. Some programs and activities offered include card games, movie screenings, exercise classes, yoga, arts and crafts and more. The Tewksbury Knights of Columbus is a non-profit organization filled with men of faith and action. Members participate in charitable events that vary in cause and scope. The Tewksbury organization has a banquet hall on Main Street that is available for booking for special occasions, such as wedding receptions.
The George A. Campbell American Legion Post 101 is a meeting place for veterans. It hosts a meeting on the first Monday of every month and many other special events, including holiday celebrations and other fund-raising parties. The hall is available for rent.
Sons of Italy Winchester Lodge 1580 is a non-profit, fraternal organization with about 350 members. The organization sponsors charitable events throughout the year. It has a function hall with a full kitchen and bar that can accommodate up to 150 people and can be rented by the public. This chapter started in 1930 and is is located on Swanton St at the intersection of McKay Place.
The Winchester Swim and Tennis Club (WSTC) is a private club. Membership is through application, current member sponsorship and an initiation fee. Membership slots become available through members' resignation. There is a waiting list.
WSTC members have access to an Olympic-sized swimming pool and a kiddie pool. Pools are available for open swim, swimming lessons and the children, teen and adult swim teams. WSTC has five tennis courts and an electric ball machine for stroke practice. The club offers junior and adult tennis lessons, leagues and tournaments. Additional facilities on-site, include a snack bar, locker rooms and basketball courts.
WSTC also hosts occasional social events for adults, children and families. The calender of events is available to current members.
Part of the Massachusetts Country Club group, Woburn Country Club maintains an 18-hole golf course and clubhouse. A function room called The Fairways and a 100-seat restaurant, The Green's Grille and Pub, are on-site too. The country club is available for weddings, social and business events and golf package outings. If you are interested in joining, no appointment is necessary, just stop by during normal business hours.
