With accessible parking, a large kitchen in the back and dining tables, the banquet hall is a great location to host ceremonies. The Italian American League also provided the Bocce history lesson and instruction at the recent Slow Food Alameda event.
Odd Fellows is a local fraternal organization that meets twice a month at this location. Its community projects have included organizing a float in the Rose Parade and managing two homes for the elderly in Northern California. Eagles 1076 is a respected organization with deeply rooted ties in the community of Alameda. Members are involved in a number of issues, ranging from cancer and children's welfare to literacy and veterans' rights. Members are friendly and amicable, always open to questions about the organization and the building. Possessing a large meeting room with a stage and a ballroom, the lodge is neat and organized, centered on events and an atmosphere of camaraderie and fellowship.
A magnificent building with decades of history governed by of one Alameda's oldest societies, the Alameda (Island City) Masonic Temple is an impressive sight for even a cursory glance. Its green-painted facade with Spanish colonial details inspires a close examination. The hall is set up to host private events, complete with restrooms, a dining area, kitchen and large meeting area.
Located in Building 14, the Island Yacht Club is for people who enjoy sailing and all that goes with it. The Club has spots for docking sail boats and a clubhouse for people to relax after sailing. The club, which hosts races, also conducts the Women's Sailing Seminar to teach women how to sail properly.
The Alameda Elks Lodge 1015 is a local organization that is the part of the national Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. As a fraternal order, members must be sponsored by two other Elks. This facility has a catering kitchen, banquet and meeting areas, a gym, a card room and a full bar.
Club Nautique is a school, club and yacht charting company. With two locations in Alameda and Sausalito, this is the newest and largest fleet on San Francisco Bay. The sailing and powerboating schools offer beginner and advanced lessons, as well as number of other classes, clinics and events. Depending on the your skill level and interests, the Charter Club provides different levels of membership. The fleet consists of all new models of sail and power boats, from 26' to 49', fully equipped for safety and adventure. Club Nautique is recipient of the Captain Joe Prosser Award, the highest award for excellence in sailing instruction.
