ACPC has been serving central Iowa and Ames for over 45 years while providing the highest quality child care available. Over the years weve expanded to provide a variety of social and educational experiences for children ages 18 months through 12 years within an atmosphere of warmth and support. ACPC provides childcare services for children 18 months to 12 years. Children participate in planned activities geared toward their developmental levels. Full day childcare is available for children up to kindergarten. Before and after school care is provided at a variety of sites in Ames for school age children.All sites operated by ACPC are licensed by the State Department of Human Services. ACPC policies and state regulations ensure that all children are supervised in a safe yet warm and relaxing environments. The sites we operate are located in downtown Ames or in neighborhood schools to ease the travel time for our parents and children.To help parents reduce childcare expenses, ACPC allows families to enroll their children on a full or a part-time basis. A sliding fee scale, funded by ASSET, enables children from lower-income families to enroll in the same quality services provided for all.

Open communication between parents and employees helps to develop and implement consistent expectations for the children. Since we are also individuals that are growing and changing, we welcome any comments and appreciate any suggestions that would improve the care we give. Through the development of a preschool, childcare, and before and after school programming, all children and adolescents (0-18 years old), and those with and without disabilities, have the opportunity to learn and play in the same inclusive environment, therefore benefiting both groups. No other childcare facility within Dubuque offers these opportunities. The programs and services at the Childcare & Preschool Center are currently supporting 94 infants and children, and will become self-sustaining with the potential capacity of 117 children and adolescents. The Hills & Dales Childcare Center possesses a Level Four on the Quality Rating System. The QRS was developed to raise the quality of child care in Iowa, to increase the number of children in high-quality child care settings, and to educate parents about quality child care. By participating in QRS, Hills & Dales demonstrates a desire to improve the quality of care and education the children receive. The Childcare Center is located in the Hills & Dales Community Center behind Kennedy Mall on Stoneman Road. The Childcare Center is proud to announce their recent QRS rating of a level 4.

Incorporated in 1910 and chartered by Congress in 1916, the Boy Scouts of America is one of the leading youth service organizations in the United States. The organization provides educational programs for boys and young adults between the ages of 7 and 20 to build character, train in the responsibilities of participating citizenship and develop personal fitness. It operates six programs: Tiger Cubs, Cub Scouts, Webelos Scouts, Boy Scouting, Varsity Scouting and Venturing. Volunteer adult leaders serve at all levels of scouting in more than 300 nationwide councils. The Boy Scouts of America publishes two magazines: Boys Life and Scouting. The organization s national council is supported largely through annual registration fees paid by all members, charter and service fees paid by local councils, and income from the sales of Boys Life and Scouting magazines. The local councils are supported by communities through the Friends of Scouting campaign, the United Way, special events, foundation grants, investment income and individual donations.
