New Rochelle City Hall houses numerous government departments and offices. This includes the office of the mayor, city council, the city clerk and court, public works, and the parks and recreation department. It is located on North Avenue, near Lincoln Avenue.

This New Rochelle office is one of five Social Security Offices in Westchester. Social Security provides monthly cash benefits for those eligible for retirement, survivor and disability benefits. Residents come to this office to apply for benefits, to certify documents as part of the application process and to ask questions about their payments. 

When you visit the New Rochelle office, turn to the left to visit the interactive computer. You will select from options including "I have an appointment" and "Other questions." You may have to input your Social Security number. The machine will then print a slip with a number on it. Take a seat and wait for your number to be called before proceeding to a counter. No food or drinks are allowed in the office. In order to avoid a possible wait, call to make an appointment before visiting this office.

Free 15-minute parking and handicapped parking are available directly in front of the building. Paid parking is also available in the nearby New Rochelle city lot. Do not park in the Stop & Shop lot.

The City of New Rochelle Office for the Aging is located at the Hugh A. Doyle Senior Center, where most of its classes, activities and celebrations are held.

The Senior Center is a gathering place (not a residence) where seniors can eat, take classes and socialize with their peers. The center provides a daily lunch for seniors and has an easy drop-off box for New Rochelle Public Library returns. The Doyle Center also organizes classes in many different areas, including computer proficiency and Internet use. Other classes include arts and crafts, drawing, painting and choral singing. Exercise classes are also offered, including belly dancing, senior yoga, Dancer-cise and Aqua-cise at the Lincoln pool in the summer.

The Senior Center also hosts celebrations throughout the year (such as the ninetieth-birthday party shown in the photos) and organizes day trips to the Westchester Broadway Theater, Broadway shows in Manhattan, and the Empire City Casino in Yonkers.
