The Baltimore County Police Community Relations Council is an association focused on improving the relationship between the local community and police precinct No. 12. This council is based in Dundalk. Monthly meetings are held to address community issues having to do with the police precinct. Council members include business people, community leaders and residents of the area. Residents are encouraged to bring local issues to the council and the police precinct. The Dundalk satellite office of Baltimore County Social Services is located in the rear of the Merritt North shopping center off of Merritt Boulevard. The office deals with emergencies, food and energy assistance, food stamps, medical assistance, daycare subsidy and temporary disability assistance.
The Maryland State Government Parole and Probation office in Dundalk is located in the Logan Village Center. The Division of Parole and Probation works with offenders on parole and probation, providing supervision and guidance. The Division of Parole and Probation requires that offenders are meeting and upholding requirements set forth by the courts.
The Baltimore County Police Academy is located in Building G on the campus of the Community College of Baltimore County in Dundalk. According to the academy's website, "the police academy is a 27-week academic, physical and practical training program, which introduces recruits to a career in law enforcement." It is a non-residential program.
