Stratford's Town Hall at the heart of town on Main Street is the hub of local government. Birdseye Municipal Complex, formerly Birdseye School, is the home of Stratford Community Services, which offers programs for residents including children, youth and families. Among the offices located in the complex are the Youth Service Bureau, Stratford Youth and Family Advisory Board and the School Readiness & Child Care Advisory Council. Stratford Community Services is open Monday through Friday from 8am - 4:30pm and evening hours are available by appointment.
Other offices and programs located in the complex include Stratford Youth Sports Association, CT Energy Assistance Program, Counseling and Social Services, CARE and the Stopping Underage Drinking in Stratford Coalition.
East Lyme Town Water & Sewer is a government office responsible for the maintenance and repair of sewer and water systems. The department also design conservation policies, usage rates and provides information in emergencies.
The planning department is a broad umbrella in Montville, encompassing the Planning and Zoning Commission, the Inland Wetlands Commission, the Zoning Board of Appeals and the Economic Development Commission.

The Office of the Town Clerk is responsible for birth, death and change of name certificates as well as marriage, dog, hunting and fishing licenses. The town clerk office is also responsible for meeting agendas and minutes and town records. The Office of the Town Clerk is located in the town hall along with various other town departments and offices.
Montville Town Hall is surprisingly light and airy inside, even though its exterior reveals the solid brick of so many Connecticut municipal buildings. There's plenty of parking beside the town hall with handicapped parking in front. The landscaping is simple and attractive. Inside, the highly polished adobe colored tile floors, white walls with dark trim, and lots of artwork of Montville attract the eye. There are many levels to the building, and all are accessible by elevator and stairs. There are restrooms on every level.

The Stonington Borough Tax Collector office is located in the Stonington Town Hall. The office is responsible for the collection of borough taxes. Residents who own property in Stonington Borough pay taxes to the Town of Stonington and Stonington Borough. Thomas Sanford is the Stonington Borough Tax Collector.
The Town of Stonington's Water Pollution Control Authority office is located inside Town Hall at 152 Elm Street in Stonington. The Water Pollution Control Authority maintains the sewer systems throughout town. There are three separate sewer systems that serve parts of Stonington. Harold W. Storrs is the director of the Water Pollution Authority.
The Greenwich Department of Health serves to assess and address the local community's health needs. The department promotes individual and community health through the provision of public health services, guidance, and the implementation of health laws and regulations.
