Located in the village of North Canton, this U.S. Post Office is the local place for postal supplies and mail services. Passport service (photos and application processing) is available and no appointment is needed during staffed window hours. Post office boxes are available for rent, in person or online.
The Collinsville Post Office once served as the core postal location for the Collins Company and the village it spawned. Although people today are much more mobile, the post office is still one of four in Canton. Village residents and business owners are just a short walk from the personal service at this location.
The branch of the United States Post Office, located in Broad Brook, offers a variety of services. Customers can send out and track envelopes and packages, change their address, put their mail on hold, purchase stamps, buy packing materials, obtain post office boxes and more. The last daily collection is at 5 pm.
Environmental programs include water, sewage, food protection, epidemiological investigations and housing. Disease surveillance and follow-up of communicable disease is a priority for the department. The department also provides educational programs on health issues, and screenings and immunizations for high risk groups.
The Fleet Maintenance Division is one of three divisions of the Department of Physical Services under the direction of the Town Engineer/Manager of Physical Services. This division is responsible for providing all routine preventive maintenance and repair work on the town’s fleet of more than 300 pieces. This includes a wide variety of vehicles ranging from general purpose cars and police cruisers to school buses, fire apparatus, heavy trucks and construction equipment.
The Trumbull Housing Authority oversees Stern Village, a subsidized housing complex where the office itself is located. Harry Wise is the executive director.
The town clerk's office is traditionally one of the busiest at town hall. Major services include recording of land records, birth, death and marriage records, state notices,meeting agendas and minutes, notarizing of documents, issuing of licenses and permits, safeguarding of town records and recording of military discharges.
Founded in 1941 as a military air base, Bradley International Airport is western New England's largest. It is named after Lt. Eugene M. Bradley from Antler, Oklahoma, who died in an August 1941 training accident at the airfield. The airport saw more than 5.3 million passengers in 2009. It continues renovations and is seeing airline services expand to 29 markets. Southwest began nonstop service to Denver in March 2010, Delta announced that it will resume nonstop service to Los Angeles in June 2010 and JetBlue began service in November 2010 with twice daily service to both Ft. Lauderdale and Orlando.
The First Company Governor's Horse Guards comprise the oldest continuously operated cavalry unit in the nation. In 2010, the Horse Guard trained to become to first horse-mounted search and rescue unit in the state of Connecticut. Headquarters is on Arch Road near the Church of Saint Ann and Miller Foods, Inc. The horses roam on farm land marked by the white fence perimeter bordering West Avon Road. Drivers can view the horses from the road. The Horse Guards run drills every Thursday at 7 pm, which are open to be observed by the public, maintaining the tradition of riding in the same formationsthe cavalry originally did. When the horses are not outside, they are housed in a red barn next to the Horse Guard office building. The Horse Guards are responsible for taking care of the horses. They welcome new members on a rolling basis. Interested parties may contact the main office for more information on joining the Horse Guards.
The Office of Civil Preparedness coordinates all government and citizen activities during times of natural or man-made disasters, taking into account such factors as manpower, equipment and community needs. When a disaster strikes, the office provides updates and instructions through its radio station (1570AM) and its disaster information telephone line. The office also coordinates shelters when necessary during disasters and has a state-of-the-art van that can function as a back-up communications system if the town hall system fails.

The Nathaniel Witherell Rehabilitation and Nursing Center provides senior citizens with a friendly, caring environment, especially when patients are in recovery from physical illnesses or surgeries. The center handles short and long-term stays in its 186-bed facility. This nonprofit business has been serving senior citizens in Greenwich and the surrounding communities since around 1960. Its skilled nurses take pride in helping patients get back on their feet.
