The Department of Human Services is located near Stonington High School. The department, led by Human Services Director Beth-Ann Stewart, is responsible for enhancing the well-being of all residents in Stonington. The department is composed of four offices: recreation, senior services, social services and youth and family services.
The Wequetequock Fire Station serves the town of Stonington as one of six volunteer fire departments. The volunteer force assists citizens in emergencies. In case of an emergency, dial 911. The Stonington Police Dispatch Center will then delegate emergency response to agencies such as the Wequetequock Fire Station.
The Pawcatuck Fire Department is one of six volunteer fire departments that serve the town of Stonington. The fire department was founded in 1887 and is composed of 40 active volunteer firefighters.
