Built in 2007, the modern, state-of-the-art Portsmouth Public Library contains thousands of volumes of books, CDs, DVDs and electronic books in its collection. It also offers a cafe area on the main level where library patrons can work on their computers and ample space for art exhibits and lectures. Librarian Mary Ann List and her staff are always available to answer any questions that library patrons may have.

Applicants can receive passports in less than two weeks and visas in less than four weeks. Appointments are accepted through the toll-free automated appointment system phone line if applicants do not require a passport within a short timeframe.
