Grandmaster Frank J. Marshall founded this historic chess club in 1915. The Marshall Chess Club was incorporated in 1922, and has been headquartered at 23 West 10th Street since 1931. Frank James Marshall was born in New York City on August 10, 1877. In 1895, the Marshall family moved to Montreal where Frank joined the Montreal Chess Club, quickly establishing a reputation among the leading players of Montreal.

Located in Suite 206, the National Scholastic Chess Foundation was was founded in 1990. The Executive Director of the NSCF is FIDE Master Sunil Weeramantry. The mission of the NSCF is to bring the benefits of a chess education to children. It promotes chess as an educational tool for students from elementary through high school levels. The Foundation serves more than 30 communities in Westchester and Fairfield counties and runs more than 150 programs in 70 schools.

Progress with Chess is a sponsor and organizer of chess competitions and tournaments in the Cleveland area. It is a non-profit organization that currently provides chess instruction in more than 35 Cleveland schools and strives to improve lives by using chess. The office is located in the Fairhill Partners building in Cleveland Heights.

Started in 1998, Kid Chess provides chess training programs to the children of Atlanta area in a fun and educational environment. Located in Marietta, Ga., the kids attend these instructional programs on campus at various public and private schools, homeschool groups and other locations. The training is designed to teach important life lessons, such as sportsmanship, problem solving, critical thinking, concentration, patience, attention span and other skills. Kid Chess service area encompasses Cobb County, Fulton Country, Cherokee Country, Gwinnett County and Atlanta City. It also organizes after-school instruction as well as small-group instruction, tournaments, summer camps, private lessons and advanced lessons.
