Los Altos Food Products roots were established in Mexico with a well-known cheese called cotija. More than 20 years ago, Raul and Gloria Andrade entered the dairy industry when they began importing cotija cheese from Mexico to the United States. They saw an opportunity to move their business to the states and offer it to a promising market due to the increasing need for the production of this type of cheese in Southern California. In 1985, when the Andrades moved the family business to City of Industry, Calif., they founded a new company, Los Altos Food Products. The company offers more than 10 dairy-based products. The company s name derives from one of the most popular and successful cheese regions in their home country, Los Altos Jalisco, Mexico.
