Established 37 years ago, the Animal Care League is an Oak Park-based not-for-profit animal shelter that provides lost and homeless pets with temporary medical attention and care.
All of the animals kept at the shelter are available for adoption. Those looking to adopt a furry new friend—the shelter is often populated with dogs, cats and rabbits—must meet a set of criteria, including age and residency requirements.
The Animal Care League also facilitates off-site adoptions, provides an affordable spay/neuter clinic, hosts obedience classes and supports a variety of pet-friendly local causes.
Since 1986, Sharing Connections has been helping families who are unable to help themselves at the time. Providing furniture for those who need, Sharing Connections bridges the gap between those who have stuff to give and those who would do well to receive. Since 2001, Sharing Connections has been servicing the community from its current location in Downers Grove.
The downtown workshop provides a place for mentally or physically handicapped adults to work and socialize. Tasks include light packaging, labeling, stuffing envelopes, heat sealing and other jobs. The workshop seeks work projects from other businesses and also accepts donations.

The shelter adopts out thousands of dogs and cats and is always looking to provide them with new loving homes.
This non profit warehouse was founded in 1984 and provides food and essential items to people living in Naperville and DuPage. The pantry also provides pet food for pet owners. Donations may be dropped off during office hours.
Save-A-Pet is a national organization that has been saving animals since 1972. It has been in business in Grayslake since 1995. Save-A-Pet is a no-kill animal rescue that houses cats and dogs. It currently houses 300 cats and dogs that are all looking for loving homes.

Goodwill offers a place for people to receive food, clothing and other necessities. The organization also offers workshops and classes to help out-of-work people find jobs.
This location is a thrift store. Customers can purchase and donate secondhand clothing, furniture and home goods; the proceeds go to Goodwill's charitable efforts.
