This is the Los Angeles branch of Pacifica Institute, a non-profit, organization promoting cross-cultural awareness and communication. The organization was founded by the Turkish-American Community of California in 2003, and was originally called Global Cultural Connections. The institute brings people together from diverse communities through conferences, panels, public forums and art events. This branch, located in Westwood Village, hosts luncheons, dinners, festivals, trips and discussions. With its proximity to UCLA, the organization also partners with the academic resources there in providing Turkish studies and Ney courses. As part of its interest in building a better society, Pacifica Institute participates in public service activities, and has contributed to Pakistan Earthquake Relief, Tsunami Relief and California Fires Relief. Pacific Institute also has branches in Orange County, San Diego, Silicon Valley, Sacramento and Las Vegas.

Founded in 1983, the nonprofit organization helps individuals and families pay for necessary things such as food, shelter and medicine. Ninety-two percent of all Aid for AIDS revenue goes to client programs, so if possible, please make a donation.
The L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center provides various services for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community throughout Los Angeles County. It features a career center, the Lily Tomlin Jane Wagner Cultural Arts Center, HIV prevention and education programs, enrichment courses, conversation groups and volunteer services.
Well Baby Center is a nonprofit organization that provides counseling services for parents of children from prenatal months to 5 years. Programs include play and music groups for children, parenting workshops, new parents support groups, mindful parenting groups and social skills parent-child play groups. It also hosts baby showers and birthday parties.

Chinese Historical Society of Southern California is located at the edge of Chinatown in a very unassuming little house that is brimming with photos and information about the Chinese-American experience and specifically the history of immigrants to Los Angeles and Southern California in general. The intent of the Chinese Historical Society of Southern California is to "increase awareness of Chinese-American heritage through public programs, education and research." It is celebrating 30 years of contributing to Chinese-American culture and life here in Los Angeles.
