St. James Catholic Church is located in a large, traditionally designed space on 10 Mile Road between Novi and Beck Roads. St. James opened in 1989 and is led by pastor George Chamley. The church offers daily mass, communion services during the week, many parish ministries, youth programs, classes, adult and youth groups and exercise classes, primarily yoga.
One of the oldest churches on Grosse Ile, Sacred Heart Church is also one of the most unique. Its altar is located in the center of the worship space, with the pews surrounding it on all sides. In addition, a soaring, glass-fronted gathering space was added in 1988, creating a dramatic, but accessible entrance. For many years, this unique space was the site of an island-wide ecumenical holiday celebration. The open feeling of the architecture is reflected in the warmth and welcome offered by parishioners. In addition to the main church, services are held in a small stone chapel (the original church) located on church-owned land on the Detroit River. Many brides choose this picturesque site for their weddings.

St. Irenaeus is a welcoming church offering Saturday evening mass and three Sunday morning masses. Founded in 1967, the present church was built in 1980. The most recent renovations were finished in 2007.
