Services As a full service architecture firm, Blomquist and Associates Architects comprehensive design capabilities permit the firm to tailor our services to respond to specific design requirements of this project and the specialized needs for whatever the project scope. Design is the core of the firms philosophy. A good design team is created by organizing representatives of each discipline to work closely with you, our client, in addressing your specific needs. A successful Blomquist and Associates design is one that projects the desired image and serves the people who use it with attention to both budget and schedule. A firms principal maintains direct personal involvement and assumes ultimate responsibility for client satisfaction. James Blomquist has been practicing architecture from offices in Iron Mountain, Michigan since 1961, first for Nelson and Associates, then Blomquist, Nelson and Associates and currently Blomquist and Associates Architects. Mark Blomquist joined the firm in 1981. The firm is in the general practice of architecture and has a project experience that is quite diverse. In response to this, we have developed an experienced core in-house group and collaborate with good partners to increase our capability and provide quality service on large, special projects that we normally couldnt serve alone. We tend to be more selective than our competitors when it comes to projects and the partnerships we pursue. Project quality / size and our ability to provide a high quality service in the role we play are more important than growing staff and quantity of projects. Mark Blomquist joined the firm in 1982 upon graduation from the University of Michigan with a Masters of Architecture degree. Mark is the primary architect on most projects. He has worked on projects throughout Dickinson County and the state of Michigan and recently in projects in Illinois as a joint venture with Goss/Pasma. Blomquist and Associates Architects provides full architecture services, interior design/space planning, construction management, residential design, land planning services for new and renovated facilities. Staff size currently consists of two principal architects, one staff architect, three production/design technicians and one clerical/bookkeeper. We have at times grown to over 12 employees but have experienced the painful process of cutting staff when our workload goes down.
