The Saugatuck Harbor Yacht Club was established in 1959 as a private club at the picturesque mouth of the Saugatuck River. Club activities include cruising, fishing and racing. The facility features a swimming pool, barbecue areas, children's play area and a fuel dock. There are slips for 160 boats.
The Saugatuck Rowing Club, originally the Rowing Association was founded in 1990 by James Mangan. This association is comprised of two renowned rowing programs: Olympic-level training for adults and juniors and recreational training. The club's state-of-the-art fitness center offers a range of classes including yoga, pilates, body sculpting and spinning. Personal training and massage services are also available. The center also is home to the the Riverview, a large restaurant with views of the Saugatuck River, that is open to the public and is a popular spot for weddings and special occassions.
The club's general manager is Chad Gleason, and the membership director is Mary Green. The staff members are all extensively trained and highly professional. Membership is approximately $150 per month.
The Cedar Point Yacht Club is a private club for sailboat racing enthusiasts and their families with a century's old tradition of sailboat racing. Races take places 100 days out of the year and the club hosts an extensive regatta schedule. Located on Saugatuck Island at the mouth of the Saugatuck River, the club facilities include a clubhouse with showers and a snack bar, grill area, two sandy beaches and slips for its fleet of racing boats.
Downunder Kayaking is a recreation business specializing in the rental of kayaks and paddle boards. In addition to rental services, the company provides instruction in paddle boarding, kayaking and rescue services and hosts scheduled fitness and beach yoga classes. Kayaking and paddle board parties can be arranged to take place at the Downunder Kayaking facilities or at a site of the client's choosing. Group services can be arranged at a discounted rate and Downunder hosts a summer camp for kids in first through 12th grades.
