BioServe Biotechnologies offers analysis of a variety of genetic polymorphism information, which is obtained using DNA isolated from whole blood, blood clots, nuclear pellets and several different types of tissues. Genetic polymorphism analysis is based on identifying differences that exist in inter-individual susceptibility to the development of disease. These individual susceptibilities can be partially attributed to genetic polymorphisms in certain genes, particularly in genes that code for enzymes involved in the activation of procarcinogens and detoxification of carcinogens. Genetic polymorphisms in genes involved in DNA replication and repair may play an important role in the disease process. BioServe has extensive experience in genotyping analysis, and in situations where genotyping conditions are not established, the scientists at BioServe can assist in the design and establishment of the optimum assay conditions. BioServe Biotechnologies is headquartered in Laurel, Md.
