The Hinman Dental Society of Atlanta is the driving force behind the Hinman Dental Meeting. It is the premiere dental convention of the Southern United States. The convention is open to all dental professionals from dentists to periodontists, orthodontists and dental hygienists. The convention is held once a year at the Georgia World Congress Center and Omni Hotel. The first Hinman meeting dates back to 1911, when Dr. Thomas P. Hinman gathered fellow professionals with the intention of continuing dental education.

The YMCA Forsyth is in a new building to the back of Vickery Village, off of Post Road. It offers fitness equipment, personal training and classes for adults and children. You can work out with its free weights, strength machines, spin cycles, treadmills, treadwalkers, ellipticals or stair climbers. Classes are scheduled throughout the day and include yoga, spinning, step, Corepole and Zumba. The schedule changes every 6 to 8 weeks. Depending on the time of year, children can do gymnastics, soccer, swim lessons, or basketball. Child care is available in the mornings and late afternoons in a clean and friendly daycare to kids 6 weeks and up. After school care is also available for kids at Vickery Creek. There is a pool with lap lanes, a hot tub and sauna. Family dressing rooms are available.
