The Pilgrim Hall Museum houses treasured possessions of those first courageous settlers. Among those irreplaceable treasures are William Bradford's Bible, Myles Standish's sword, the only portrait of a Pilgrim (Edward Winslow) painted from life, the cradle of New England's first–born, Peregrine White, the great chair of William Brewster and the earliest sampler made in America, embroidered by the teenage daughter of Myles Standish. The Museum is located in the heart of historic Plymouth Center.
You never know, the next Picasso could get his start here. Drawing and manga classes for budding artists -- children and young adults alike -- are held here. Private instruction is also available.
Housed in a former fire house on Monmouth Street, the non-profit Brookline Community Arts Center offers a wide range of community art classes for adults, children and families. The center also organizes rotating exhibits of local and internationally renowned artists.
Free and reduced-cost classes are available for elderly residents and low-income children.

In addition to custom framing, this South End business also features the work of local artists, hosts the occasional gallery showing and sells furniture items by consignment. The shop works with the following framing materials: acid-free matting, hand-wrapped silk mats and liners, Ph-neutral acid-free foam backing and mounting boards and Tru Vue glazing.
This art mecca is set up in a bright purple house with a Mona Lisa door, right at the start of 1 Boston Post East. There is a large parking lot out back. This shop features certified framers and has walls covered in those little right angle frame samples. It also has a shockingly wide selection of local and regional art and artistic gifts and jewelry. Little porcelain fish with human faces, sand art and sterling charms are just a few examples. This place is sprawling and all the art is for sale. Post Road also holds seasonal art shows.
At Mr. Ticket in Wilmington, tickets are available for events in New England or worldwide. They carry tickets for concerts, theater, Las Vegas shows, Broadway and of course, sports. Discounts are available for season ticket purchasers. Tickets are also available through their Web site, though visiting their location will allow a knowledgeable staff member to help figure out exactly the right event and price.
Coonamessett Farm, a 20-acre farm and research enterprise, has been serving the community since 1989. Located in the East Falmouth village of Hatchville and owned by Ron Smolowitz, the farm offers a variety of products, services and activities. Farm animals include dwarf goats, sheep, alpacas, miniature donkeys, rabbits, chickens, ducks and turkeys. Visitors can pick their own vegetables, fruit, flowers and herbs or browse the farm stand for jams, breads, herbal soaps and specialty grocery items. The farm offers educational tours for schools and community organizations. "Jamaican Night" on Wednesday nights in the summer is very popular with local residents.
Olives & Grace is an artisan shop featuring products made from emerging artists, gift producers and small batch food makers, such as Bee Local from Portland, Ore., and Mike's Hot Honey from Brooklyn, N.Y.
Phil Cohen, owner and operator of home-based Cohen productions, specializes in DJ entertainment services for Bar and Bat Mitvahs.
Regrettably, Segway Experience at Patriot Place will not be returning for the 2013 season. The staff are thankful to both Patriot Place and the community for their support over the past couple of years.

Segway Experience at Patriot Place offers transportation and guided Segway tours of Patriot Place. Segway Personal Transporters are available for individuals in search of something interesting to do. Patriot Place features a wide variety of stores, restaurants, entertainment venues and Gillette Stadium, home of the New England Patriots and New England Revolution. In addition to sharing local knowledge, guides will instruct tour participants in how to operate the Segway if it happens to be their first time on one. Segway Experience at Patriot Place is closed during the winter months, however gift certificates for tours can be purchased year round.
Located at the Boston Center for the Arts on Tremont Street, The Beehive is a restaurant and bar serving dinner nightly and brunch on the weekends. Open daily, the Beehive offers a full bar and regularly scheduled live music performances, as well as a menu of small plates, raw bar fare, fish, steaks, sandwiches and more. Showcase Live is a 16,000-square-foot performance venue that features live performances from the top artists in jazz, rock, country, hip hop and more. Showcase Live is home to a restaurant and bar that can accommodate more than 500 seated guests, as well as 1,000 standing patrons. Call to schedule a private party.
