Subspace Art is the latest addition to Culver City's thriving and growing creative scene. The gallery features works by known and rising artists in a variety of traditional and contemporary mediums. All works are optioned for sale. Exhibits run for 45 days with new shows starting every two months.
Subspace art is located next door to the iconic Ed Massey building and across from Sony Studios and the historic Kirk Douglas Theatre in downtown Culver City. Creative Enterprises is the studio of welding artist and sculptor Gilad Ben Artzi. He describes himself as a "fabricator and engineer of bronze and exotic metals." He also is a furniture designer and makes interesting and original pieces out of bronze and other metals. Royal/T is located on Washington Boulevard, just east of Robertson. It's easy to miss, found along a stretch of large warehouse-style buildings. Look for the Ivy-covered storefront with a pink crown in the middle to distinguish this unusual amalgam of disparate businesses. Royal/T is a casual cafe and teahouse, an art store and a gallery space, with art installations scattered in and among the dining tables.
Phoenix Pictures is located on Culver Boulevard, just past the Washington split. It can found next the restaurant Fraiche, in an expansive second-story office. The unassuming glass doors, adorned with only a logo to identify the work within, hide one of the most prominent production companies in Hollywood. The Museum of Jurassic Technology is located on Venice Boulevard, at the corner of Main, on the north side of the street. The museum's entrance is a tiny, nondescript door easily missed because of the adjacent hardwood flooring store. Don't show up just any old time, as the museum hours are limited and should be checked before visiting. The museum claims to serve a dual role: offering academics an opportunity to review and artifacts from the Jurassic era, while introducing the public to the relics of the period. Complimentary tea and cookies are available one hour before and after the front desk opens and closes. The museum is non-profit and suggests amounts for donations.
