Founded in 1983, Cascade AIDS Project is one of the oldest and largest community-based providers of HIV services, housing, education and advocacy in Oregon and southwest Washington. Through its Working Choices program, the organization helps women and men return to work, and educates employers about HIV in the workplace. It also helps men and women develop life skills and increase self-sufficiency through workshops and classes. Its CareLink program assists men and women with HIV to reduce their risk of infecting others and access needed medical care. The organization receives support from more than 600 volunteers, and provides 24-hour help line services. Its Mens Wellness Center organizes various ongoing events, such as free rapid HIV testing, risk reduction counseling, and social and education group for Latino gay and bisexual men. Cascade AIDS Project s main service site is located in Portland, Ore.
