Kitsap Mental Health Services has been operational for more than 25 years. Based in Bremerton, Wash., Kitsap is one of the leading providers of mental health services in the United States. The agency serves more than 5,000 children and young adults with developmental disabilities annually. It provides a wide variety of services, such as residential care, educational programs, therapeutic activities and recreational solutions. Kitsap is approved by the Washington Department of Education and Department of Public Welfare. The center is affiliated with the National Association of Private Schools for Exceptional Children, Council for Exceptional Children, and Autism Society of America. Additionally, it provides day and residential special education services to children and adolescents, and offers corrective solutions for acquired brain injury, mental illnesses, cerebral palsy, and autism spectrum and neurological disorders.
