The YMCA is a non-denominational community center with dozens of activities, programs and classes for all ages. The YMCA in Cranston offers day care for kindergarten aged children, a playground, an Olympic sized swimming pool, swimming classes, birthday parties, babysitting, outdoor activities, before and after school care, youth and adult sports, dance classes, fitness programs, first aid certification classes, martial arts and much more. In 2009 the YMCA raised 1.2 million dollars in financial assistance for nearly 4,000 families in the area in the form of memberships, child care, program fees and scholarships.
