The VFW Post 4651 on Haven Ave. is a war veterans organization that involves itself directly with the community by helping veterans have access to affordable health care and organizing charitable events and fundraisers for various charities and causes. The members of this VFW put in hundreds of hours of community service each year helping to improve education, health care, hunger and homelessness in the United States. In order to become a member of this VFW you must have been a member of the United States Military and have been honorably discharged and have received a campaign medal for service overseas, served 30 consecutive or 60 non-consecutive days fighting in the Korean War or received hostile fire or imminent danger pay.
