Dr. Afar earned his DDS and Master of Science in Oral Biology from UCLA School of Dentistry and received the California State Fellowship, Hortense Fishbaughs Fellowship and a coveted NIH Dentist-Scientist Fellowship that enabled him to continue his studies in the fields for periodontology and oral implantology. He obtained his specialty degree from the University of Washington in Seattle.
