The American Red Cross, a humanitarian organization led by volunteers,provides relief to disaster victimsand helps people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies. In times of emergency the Red Cross is there to provide basic human needs like food and shelter.In addition to getting assistance, you can getget involved with the Red Cross by donating, volunteering or giving blood. The local Red Cross in Huntington is a free-standing house on the corner of High Street and Hollywood Place with parking on each side of the building. At the 2010 Annual Meeting and Recognition ceremony, Craig Cooper, of the Huntington chapter, was recognized as an Outstanding Volunteer.
