Venture Quest rents kayaks for solo trips or guided tours in the Monterey Bay, around Santa Cruz, and up Elkhorn Slew. No experience is required, and kayakers setting out from the private dock on Santa Cruz Wharf often see sea lions, dolphins and even whales. The company rents single and double kayaks and gear, starting at $30 for three hours. Winter rentals are by appointment only, so call first.
