Chartered in 1918, the Truckee-Carson Irrigation District is responsible for the operation and management of the Newlands Project. The district, also known as TCID, represents the water right holders within the boundaries of the project. It conducts a range of water conservation activities. The Truckee-Carson Irrigation District is a political subdivision of the State of Nevada.
