Started in 1970 as the IBM Manassas Employees Federal Credit Union, Synergy One has grown into a full-service credit union with more than 32,000 members. Synergy One is a nonprofit financial cooperative and serves a "field of membership" based on geography. Everyone who lives, works, worships or goes to school in Prince William County, Manassas and Manassas Park, is eligible to join the credit union. Synergy One may offer similar products than a bank, but its philosophies and operational structure are completely different. When a client opens an account, (s)he is instantly an owner of Synergy One so (s)he obtains lower loan interest rates, higher dividends on share deposits and no or lower fees as compared with those offered by for profit banks. The Sudley office offers an array of products and services, including money market accounts, certificates, IRAs, club accounts and youth accounts, loans, credit cards, travelers' checks, safe deposit boxes, coin counting machine, cashier's checks, notary service, savings bonds and business services.
