Sue's Tailor & Alterations has not been owned by "Sue," a Korean man, for more than a decade, but current owner Kyung Yoo kept the name.Yoo,a Mercer Island resident who moved here in 2000 for the schools (she has two children), has owned and operated the business since 1999, the third owner of this business, now more than 30 years old. Yoo does alterationsof all kinds, but can also design and create garments in consultation with a client. One Mercer Island mom said she had Yoo create a T-shirt quilt for her son's graduation gift at a fraction of the cost of online options for this service. The cozy shop enjoys a steady stream of traffic based on "word of mouth"referrals. She sends items out for re-weaving.
