For more than 90 years, The Stop & Shop Supermarket Company has been a grocery retail store in the United States. Based in Pittsfield, Mass., it has a chain of more than 375 stores throughout Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, New York and New Jersey. The company is a member of the US Green Building Council and received the LEED (EB) certifications for 50 of its existing stores. The Stop & Shop Supermarket Company is also a member of the EPAs Smart Way program.
