The Steak n Shake Operations is a full service, casual dining restaurant company serving a core menu of its steakburger sandwiches, french fries, old fashioned hand-dipped milk shakes, chili, homestyle soups, fresh salads, a variety of desserts and breakfasts. All of the food is prepared to the customers order. Steak n Shake restaurants feature full-service dining areas, counter service and drive-thru windows and are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Steak n Shake is one of the oldest restaurant chains in the United States. It was founded in 1934 in Normal, Ill., and operates more than 400 restaurants in 20 states, including 45 franchised units.
