The Salem Police Department is a full-service police agency that serves a community of more than 30,000 residents. It has over 60 full-time sworn officers, nearly 15 part-time sworn officers and approximately 20 nonsworn personnel. The department s investigation unit is responsible for conducting secondary investigations on burglary, theft, assault, robbery and homicide cases. The Salem Police Department s patrol division responds to service calls and conducts motor vehicle enforcement activities on a daily basis. Located in Salem, N.H., the department also offers various crime prevention programs.
