Tahki Stacy Charles, Inc was formed in January 2000 when two well-known yarn companies Tahki Yarns and Stacy Charles, Inc decided the knitting world just might be a better place if they joined forces. The blend of their two different styles and different yarns turned out to be a match made in fiber heaven! Together the two companies have been supplying knitters with fabulous fibers for more than 40 years. Tahki Imports Ltd, which founder Diane Friedman began as a home-based mail order business in 1968, has long been a favorite source for kicked-back, casual natural fibers and blends. Stacy Charles began selling high-end Italian novelty yarns as the exclusive North American distributor of Filatura di Crosa and other companies in 1984. In 1989, he launched his eponymous S. Charles Collezione, as an outgrowth of the Missoni Collection that preceded it. In 2000, the two companies merged and are now known as Tahki Stacy Charles, Inc ( TSC ). Today TSC manages to fill almost every niche in the handknitting industry, from high-end classics and fashion-forward novelties to value-priced fashion finds and casual favorites. Tahki Yarns are mostly natural fiber classics with an All-American look, including long-time favorites, Donegal Tweed and Cotton Classic. Tahki Yarns is the go-to brand for tweeded yarns and was at the forefront of the eco-friendly fiber trend with its Terra Collection.
