Wallingford is now a stop on the Connecticut Wine Trail after owner Joe Gouveia, a native of Portugal, purchased the 140-acre property in 1999 and spent years planting for a 2004 opening.
One of the state's most serene vineyards, Gouveia has since been featured in Jan Mann's 2006 book, "Cruising Connecticut with a Picnic Basket." It is the recipient of numerous awards and is the location of choice for everything from bridal showers to private events and individual wine tastings.
