"My favorite thing about the solar panels is that we are decreasing our impact on the environment, and this is a big part of sustainable agriculture, " says Dave DeBusk, vineyard manager. Sustainable agriculture relies on the principle that we must meet the needs of the present, without compromising the future. Solar power is the most reliable and environmentally friendly form of energy available. Our panels are producing clean, renewable energy, and any extra power produced will go directly back into the grid. In addition to providing for the winery, we produce enough energy to power 5-7 homes here in Paso Robles!

Book our gorgeous Briarwood Cottage on our ONX Estate vineyard. Spend an idyllic getaway in an English-cottage inspired vineyard-side home. Guests may rent rooms in the main cottage, reserve the entire main cottage for a large group, or book the fully equipped apartment. By Marc CaparoneNow well into our third decade as a small artisan winery, we specialize in high quality red wines. We make wines that we like to drink ; in our case that means wines with complexity, good balance, and sufficient acidity and tannins to age well and complement a meal. By paying close attention to matching our vines with their microclimate, we produce wines with good fruit and varietal character at a moderate alcohol level. We love classic style wines - wines that can age and improve for decades, that are multi-dimensional, and that are not excessively oaked, and that is what we try to make.Our winery is truly a father-and-son operation. All Caparone wine is made by my father, Dave Caparone and myself, without any employees. One of the most experienced winemakers in Paso Robles, my father has made wine every year since 1973. In 1979, he founded Caparone Winery to focus on the wines he loved best: full-bodied red wines, made in a classic style, with uncompromising commitment to quality. Over the years, the winery has stayed true to that goal, producing small amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Zinfandel, Sangiovese, Nebbiolo and Aglianico.We believe that the best wines are possible when these conditions are met: grapevines are planted with careful regard to microclimate, fruit is harvested at the exact moment of maturity, and wine is made with as little processing as possible. In other words, careful handling of nature is the key to fine winemaking. We do not fine or filter our wines, and take no shortcuts to put them in the bottle sooner, leaving each for two years in small oak barrels. The resulting wines give all that the grape has to offer, wines that will continue to develop in the bottle for many years.

The sun-drenched wild west...in a bottle. In 2011 I started what is now LEVO wine. After receiving a heaping pile of rejection letters from all CA University’s offering enology and viticulture, I decided it time to wave goodbye to academia and create my own path in the wine world. Soon I ended up in Portugal’s Douro Valley, with a pair of boots & journal- I realized pretty quickly I didn’t need much else except good fruit, barrels & some siphoning tubes to make soulful wines. Since then I’ve stuck to these primitive winemaking ideas. I’ve kept my head down, pushing away the tantalizing voice of compromise and overused ideas of tradition. I craft these wines in Tin City, Paso Robles. We concentrate on buying the best fruit possible, mainly focusing on Ballard Canyon & surrounding Rhone vineyards of the Santa Ynez Valley, Edna Valley, and West Side Paso Robles.
