As a non-profit organization, ORC Industries is a non-profit organization that has a mission to advance the independence, productivity and self-sufficiency of people with disabilities through employment opportunities. ORC Industries believes that an independent, productive, self-sufficient person is a person who has a healthy sense of self-worth and self-esteem. ORC employs disabled people as well as its staff, individuals that are skilled in working with disabled people. ORC staff is trained to concentrate on a disabled employee s abilities while being aware of their particular limitations. Each disabled employee is provided with individualized skills training, work task guidance, and instructions on adherence to workplace rules. The employee is also incorporated into an industrial and manufacturing environment by becoming familiar with work breaks, lunch breaks, clocking in and out and maintaining their own production rates. The company has three offices in Wisconsin and one office in Texas.
