About Matilija In 1922 the company Wonder Water Matilija Springs was Founded. Water from Matilija Springs in Ojai California was thought to have wondrous powers and properties. The spring water was drawn, bottled and delivered to customers in Ojai and Ventura. Unfortunately, the spring water (as with most springs) was only good tasting for about nine months out of the year. In about the 1970s the decision was made that the company needed a more reliable source of water and started bottling filtered tap, reverse osmosis and dionized water as Matilija Bottled Water Company. Inc, 164 West Park Row, Ventura Ca In 2004 the company was purchased by Pure Water Systems Santa Barbara. Because PWS was focused on equipment and how to treat and purify water, a new level of water quality and standards were brought with the merger. To this day the "two companies" work together with our Matilija Division focused on the delivery and customer service and the "Pure" division focused on actual water quality. Today we use the unified name Matilija Pure Water offering our bottled water services to customer from Calabasas and Simi Valley to the south through Fillmore and Ojai to the East, through Santa Barbara and Goleta to the North. And yes, we service the Coast Guard and many of the platforms to the west. Not to be left out, Malibu, Port Hueneme, Point Mugu, Thousand Oaks, Westlake Village, Camarillo, Ventura, Oxnard, La Conchita, and Rincon Point. About Pure Water In 1948 Culligan Santa Barbara was started at our location at 1026 Santa Barbara Street, Santa Barbara Ca. The busy local Culligan Santa Barbara was purchased in 1992 by the Owner of a relatively small but very efficient company called Pure Water Works of Santa Barbara. The Culligan name and equipment was used through late 2001; we still service all Culligan equipment and honor the warranties on all of the Culligan equipment we installed. To this day we continued to focus on proven technologies to deliver our customers the highest quality water treatment equipment at fair and reasonable prices. Water softeners, salt free conditioners, reverse osmosis, water filters, and exchange tank delivery to name a few. In addition to the Santa Ynez Valley, we also service Calabasas and Simi Valley to the south through Fillmore and Ojai to the East, through Santa Barbara and Goleta to the north.
