Established in 1968, the Bloomington Area Career Center offers a variety of vocational programs. The center provides students with an opportunity to acquire required knowledge, attitudes and skills necessary to become a productive professional. It offers classes in computer repairs, automotive technologies, computer networking, construction trades, architecture, cosmetology, criminal justice, culinary arts, marketing and digital media. The Bloomington Area Career Center provides scholarships and personal and group counseling services. Its programs admit the students of several local high schools. Bloomington High School is a four-year high school serving more than 1,500 students. It offers classes from kindergarten grades nine through 12 and is governed by Bloomington School District 87. It offers a wide range of subjects, including English, math, science, history, social science, visual and performing arts, vocational education, industrial technology, consumer science, physical education and elective options.
