Van Tran, a paratransit agency since 1987 in Tucson, Ariz., provides transportation services to individuals unable to use Sun Tran s fixed route service due disabilities. The agency provides more than 400,000 passenger trips each year. It meets the standards set under the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. Van Tran offers reservation services, as well as personal care attendants and companions for riders. The agency also offers an electronic fare payment system that enables customers to pay in a more convenient fashion. Its service area includes the Tucson metropolitan area and portions of Pima County. Van Tran is affiliated with the Federal Transit Administration and Tucson Commission on Disability Issues.
