The Unitarian Universalist Society is a religious organization based on Washington Street. The Wellesley Hills Congregational Church, also known as the Hills Church, is located on Washington Street. The church is grounded in the best traditions of Christianity, but encourages friends and members to think for themselves, according to its Web site. The church dates back to 1847, and in 1961, the church joined the United Church of Christ.
